Twilight

Twilight1

Rose read Twilight in September. She simply couldn't put the book down. She insisted I had to read it and OH MY GOD.....I am soooo in LOVE with this book. I inhaled it in 5 days... stayed up until one in the morning because I simply couldn't put it down. Took it with me everywhere.

In my 20's, I was obsessed with Anne Rice's books, primarily Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. I have to admit though that I prefer the book better than any movie.

But I am looking forward to the movie and to reading New Moon and
the other books in the Twilight series.

I'm a book reader, too! I loved Lestat, the Twilight series and recently I devoured the Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris- not the chaste writing of Stephanie Meyer, these books have some sex in them (hot). They are also known as the Sookie Stackhouse series!

Hi Alma,
You will love the other books too! My sister got me hooked and we 've read all 4 of her books in the series...can't wait to see the movie myself but what do you think of Rosalie? I think they should have gotten someone much more beautiful...they are supposed to be drop-dead gorgeous, right? ;)

Alma have you watched the series 'True Blood' by Alan Ball on HBO?

...forgot to add that 'True Blood' is based on Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series.

Hey Chica :) I heard the movie was no way near as good as the books, which I loved. However, I am going to be in line and ready tomorrow after noon :)

Once I heard they were about vampires, I read the books, too this summer and loooved them so much. Not sure I want to see the movie now since I have such vivid pictures in my mind about it though... Been watching True Blood and it's almost a complete opposite of the Twilight series - but I'll probably read those books as soon as I can get hold of them.

i read all the books and saw the movie this morning, alma. i rarely have seen a film that is as good as the book it is based upon. they are different media and should stand alone. i wasn't disappointed though. it was fun. parts were pretty over the top and i had to giggle when i'm not sure the director would have liked me to giggle. but it was very nice to sit for two hours and view the edward character. meow! he's a hottie.

I read the four books in a week (couldn't stop either) and i saw the movie right after that. Being prepared for something else, at the begining i was really disappointed but now i love the movie (different from the book of course, and too short to my taste) and i am so looking forward to see new moon (my favorite after twilight)!!!! Anyway, i have all anne rice's books, and the sookie stakhouse series too, and i watched true blood and they're all good, in their differences. the good thing about the movie is that if you don't like it (or if you do, like me) afterward there are a lot of parodies on internet (this one is the best: http://community.livejournal.com/m15m/19551.html?thread=3667551#t3667551 )
anyway, enjoy!
