I am starting the New Year with a
new crafty project I am excited to share.
I've been getting some surprisingly favorable comments about these bracelets from my (very stylish and particular)thirteen year old daughter Rose.
These seem to be a hit with her and her friends.
Here's a quick tutorial.
enjoy!
Cut a strip of cardstock or chipboard
Use masking tape to join
tape the entire piece
lightly gesso it and let it dry.
use gel medium to collage paper on it.
paint it
Collage your favorite words on it,
your art work or a favorite quote.
Seal it by painting a coat of either resin,
Diamond Glaze or Golden gloss medium.
Rock it!

They are cool Alma! I always think I should do something like this with finished tape rolls, you know the large ones? :-)

Inspired! Thanks for the Inspiration. I have 4 granddaughters... (and 3 grandsons, but they won't wear a bracelet of any kind.) So you see I really need to be able to make jewelry. I'm going to try this for Valentine's. Thanks You so much

This is great. I can see that the teens/tweens would love this. It's different and can carry a message. Good job. Great creativity.

HI Ms. Alma!
I have made my own blog and would like to feature your samples in my next post.
here's my site's link:

I see these scattered around my house as little objects d'art/curios. You know what I mean. Imagine a whole stack of them thrown in a basket. Yeah. Off to play. Look out loo rolls, here I come.
I make these with my children! Actually, I usually carry a small bag with small stapler, colored pencils, and a few other goodies, mostly recycled. We use them in LOTS of situations. Waiting on food, sitting in the car during errands, ect. Often, we make them for our friends.
A couple of questions:
What exactly do you mean by "gesso" it?
What kind of paint did you use?
dont forget you can even create love "chains" with these, for a wedding, a birthday, a get well, a valentine, just because your great and all the reasons why. you could even add a chain for each special day in your childs life and they could have it when they have their first home. like a wearable memory album if you used velcro to overlap they could come apart and re attach for safe keeping.
wow look at the creative wild mind go.. these i havent tried but iam now. thanks agian Alma!!
An excellent idea. Thanks for the inspiration - I will reblog and link back to your article.

Brilliant idea!
Oh my goodness!! These are perfect. I was looking for a tutorial for something I saw on Pinterest as I have a gazillion magazines and I stumbled upon this- was very excited with the ideas tumbling around my head and when I looked to discover the author of such brilliance who should it be but the ever talented, lovely Alma Stoller.
I have this "thing" about Bob Dylan and have been designing some jewelry in my journal thinking of opening another etsy shop devoted to "My Imaginary Boyfriend."
Do you mind my selling things based on your tutorial?
These are so perfect for quotes. I'm already going off in different directions- brass blanks- but these I can play with right now. In fact I owe my SIL a birthday present maybe I'll make a group of them with a bible verse she likes... Oh the possibilities are endless. I have been planning making etched metal bracelets and charms- just setting up my workspace again... And though I will do that these are so much fun I have to play.
Plus I have hundreds of words and phrases cut from magazines and books awaiting me to be inspired/ motivated to do some collage.
Thank you Ms. Alma. Glad to discover you again.
This is such a cool idea! I am a middle school teacher and have been looking for a way to incorporate art therapy in with my kids. This is going to be a great project that I believe they will love! Thank you so much for posting it.
